The Challenges of Living with a Invisible Injury With Caren Sumption
Many effects of brain injury are not visible to others. Survivors often find themselves explaining symptoms, managing misunderstanding, or feeling pressure to appear “normal.”
This session explores the challenges of living with an invisible disability, including stigma, self-advocacy, and the emotional work of being believed. We will discuss ways to communicate needs clearly and build environments where brain differences are understood rather than dismissed.
