Remembering Janet Mott: A Light of Compassion and Strength

It is with deep admiration and reverence that we remember Janet Mott—a truly remarkable spirit whose kindness and strength illuminated the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Janet’s unwavering dedication to the brain injury community was more than service—it was a calling. With every step she took, she brought empathy, resilience, and a fierce sense of advocacy to those too often overlooked. Her work touched countless lives, offering not only resources and support but something just as vital: dignity and hope.

As a former board member of Brain Northwest, Janet gave generously of her time, her talents, and her heart. Whether it was through supporting families navigating the aftermath of injury, mentoring new advocates, or helping to shape the direction of our mission, Janet led with grace, humility, and courage. She reminded us all what true selflessness looks like.

Janet had a way of making people feel seen and valued. Her legacy will not only live on in the programs and progress she helped build—it will live on in the stories of those she uplifted, the peers she empowered, and the community she so deeply believed in.

At Brain Northwest, we are forever grateful for Janet’s dedication. We honor her memory by continuing the work she held dear—standing beside those affected by brain injury, fostering compassion, and building a future grounded in care and inclusion.

Rest in peace, Janet. You will always be a part of our story.
